New Alex Cornish Album & UK Tour

The 4th studio album by my pal Alex Cornish has just been released and it’s truly a work of sublime excellence.  Fans of his work will hear yet further evolution of songwriting mastery and stunning arrangements.  Buy your ears an early Christmas present exclusively from alexcornish.com.
Did I mention that I’m playing bass again on this album and also a cheeky bit of Moog?

Press quotes from his previous 3 albums:

“A voice to stand comparison to Thom Yorke” – The Scotsman

“4am strings and monster choruses” – The Times

“A beautiful album that has Mercury Music Prize shortlist written all over it” – The Sunday Times

This also means a UK tour and I’m very happy to once again be the support act on each date as well as playing in Alex’s band.

Here’s some video of pre-tour rehearsal:

Adam Holmes tour support

I’m up in the Scottish highlands this week playing guitar and singing backing for the awesome Adam Holmes.  I’m also opening up the shows with a back to basics solo set of just voice & guitar.  No loops, no harmoniser, no beat-boxing.  I even left my nuts at home.

Adam’s album was long-listed for the Scottish Album of the Year awards and is currently bobbing around the iTunes charts with 5 star reviews.  You should check it out, your ears will love you for it.

World’s shortest UK Tour

Having just finished the shortest UK tour in the world where I drove from Edinburgh to Manchester & back to play a lovely wee gig at The Odd Bar, I thought I’d do another one:

This Thursday, Saturday and Sunday see me in London, Beaconsfield and Leeds!  (I’ve heard that it’s important to have rest days on tour).  Hopefully see some of you there:

Tour Dates

Thursday 24th April – The 12 Bar Club, London

Saturday 26th April – The Hat Club, Beaconsfield

Monday 28th April – The Gaslight Club, Leeds

NOTE – Discount tickets for The 12 Bar Club  if you print off this flyer!

The last tour, despite an 8 hour round trip, did facilitate 2 stops at the legendary Tebay Services where I acquired a rider for my 4am unwind…

MaGoodBody

We are 3 solo artists but will be touring as a collaborative band with some instrument swapping and lots of lush backing vocals so we’re pretty excited about it.  We’ve also recorded a wee sampler CD which will be for sale at the gigs so hopefully you can make one of them!

Be sure to check out Donna & Stu‘s music online!
